Gwyneth Anne

Gwyneth is a salsa dance teacher, DJ, and event organiser who champions community-building, inclusivity, and diversity through salsa. Gwyneth strives to create events which incorporate live music performances, and workshops for learning musicality and rhythm.

Gwyneth started dancing in 2008 and became doubly hooked when moving to London and discovering its huge and vibrant dance scene, quickly developing a reputation for always knowing where to go for the best socials. She has had a passion for latin music since she started dancing and listens to it constantly off the dance floor too. Hailing from the London salsa scene, she plays a blend of the best classic and contemporary salsa and is always on the lookout for new hit songs.

When teaching salsa, Gwyneth focuses on building an excellent lead and follow technique to get you ready for the dance floor, and for every move your partner throws your way!

Gwyneth is also RoleRotation certified and believes that using role rotation, an inclusive style of switching roles during dance, as a teaching tool helps dancers to progress with a better understanding of connection in dance, as well as fostering a more inclusive community.

Brennan Delattre

Brennan, our resident jack-of-all-trades instructor and health and safety enthusiast, specialises primarily in teaching safe and healthy connection across dance styles. Originally from the United States (Minnesota -> Vermont -> Virginia -> Rio de Janeiro, Brazil -> New York City -> Oxford), she started in ballroom dancing around age eleven, dove headfirst into various swing dance styles in her undergraduate days, and in 2016 moved more seriously into performing, dancing, and eventually teaching Latin dance styles. Her teaching lineage is through Juan Calderon and she’s one of the certified instructors of the international dance whispering community.

Since arriving in Oxford, Brennan has done a variety of dance teaching, choreographing, DJing, and event organising. She coached the university salsa team through its 2022 season, teaches salsa and bachata in series, private lessons, one-off events, and at university balls; and has hosted University Parks lessons and social dances. When she’s not dancing, you can find her researching the mental health benefits of cooperative movement styles (like Latin dance!), spending time in nature with friends or an audiobook, and enjoying the (somewhat limited) Oxford sunshine.

Sergio Fernandez

Sergio is from Spain, the birthplace of the new wave of Bachata called “Sensual Bachata”. He has been dancing Latin rhythms for over 15 years.  He started teaching Bachata in Oxford almost 10 years ago, running regular classes and creating a new Bachata community in Oxford.

Sergio’s classes focus on social dancing aspects of leading and following. Fascinated by the magic of non-scripted dances, he presents un-choreographed demonstrations that are orientated towards the origins of the dances.

In addition, Sergio runs regular classes in Oxford, Swindon and Leamington Spa. He is a regular guest teacher at many events around the UK, such as Bachata Spice in London, LTP Party and Bachakiz in Notthingham, Salsa on the Pier, Late & Latin in Bristol, Salsa del Sol in Cheltenham and many others.

Sergio is also an event and live music promoter, as well as a DJ. He organises regular social dancing nights in Oxford, in addition to DJing at many bachata and salsa parties around the UK. You can find out more about the events that he organises on his own Facebook group Bachata Oxford.
